Talent Management, Tourism And Care Giving

The advent of globalization has opened more opportunities for our human capital to work in a foreign land. In my experience, I’m having a difficulty on keeping our accountants. And I heard from a colleague that they are also losing technical people like engineers and IT professionals.

Medical professionals, nurses and care givers are also in demand. As a consequence of this, some of our college graduates are taking a special special course on care giving, hoping to get a job in one of the care homes of first world nations.

This need, though outside the country, presents an opportunity. Wise guys from the Department of Tourism thought of building home care  facilities here for “health tourism”. Instead of sending our people outside, they thought of inviting the senior citizens for a  treat.

If the gov’t is serious on this project, I guess they should look at how the first world does this. One such group who understand care for senior citizens is Bettercaring of the UK. Bettercaring is an authority in care solutions. This group understand care issues that  an elderly and his/her relatives will face, including source of funds, legal parameters, the social and health care aspect, state and local ordinances. You may visit their website at www.bettercaring.com .

Let’ s hope this good idea will take off.
