Sonnie’s Porch & Happy Slip

Yehey together with Department of Tourism has brought you tube sensation Christine Gambito, also known as Happy Slip, here in the Philippines. DOT sponsors the trip so Christine, a full blooded Pinay based in the US, can experience the islands’ gig spots and be the ambassador for tourism. Before Christine leaves, a party with 100 bloggers was organized  at Mag:net Café, Bonifacio High Street on February 7, 2008 to meet Christine up close.

The event was a good opportunity for networking, in fact I was able to invite a marketing professional to apply in our company.

Herewith are some of the pics.

Value Adding

Being a netizen, we can find lot’s of stuffs in the net, both junk and quality sites. But more often than not, junk sites are more visible and aggressive

I find it amusing that groups and some individuals will make the extra effort to make their advocacy and products known by any means, even at the inconvenience of others. And spammers has been extra active these days

I think it’s also about time to promote value adding sites, those that attempt to make a difference or attempt to build people and community. I don’t mean you got to have a religious site, because a value adding blog just create value to readers, i.e, it educates, helps to be self sustaining, promotes social responsibility, empowers and inspire.

You may read the following posts to get a grasp of the concept of a value adding blog:

  1. Value Adding Blogs, Inspiring Others To Inspire Others

Lesson’s Learned @ Mandalay

I just finished watching the rematch of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao against Marco Antonio “Baby Face Assasin” Barerra live via sattelite at SM Cinema. As expected, Manny won the fight, unfortunately, it was not via knockout but unanimous decision.

I thought this was a boring and dirty fight courtesy of Barerra. Barerra’s battle plan is not to engage but to hit and run, thus, it became boring. And when Barerra is about to be knocked down, Barerra hit Pacquiao with a hook while the referee is trying to break them up. This cost Barerra a point deduction. He also suffered a bad cut under his right eye.

Herewith are lessons to learn that I thought can be applicable either to our work or life
